A Recipe For Change
There is a witch who lives on the top of a mountain. On a starless night I stumbled and tore my way up to the top of the mountain and knocked on her door. She was quite miffed I hadn’t made an appointment but was willing to see me when she looked into my eyes and heard the echoing hollow sound they made. For Everything That I Was and a Promise she sold me the following spell. I record it here in the hopes that it will help anyone else with the hollowness in their eyes. It is never too late, and I hope you act before the hollowness spreads to your heart:
A Recipe For Change
Into a glass bowl blown from the Sands of Time mix together:
â…“ cup of a childhood dream unearthed from a grave.
½ cup of courage taken from an Unlikely Hero
1 tablespoon of luck (natural is best, but store bought is fine)
Stir counterclockwise when the moon is waxing.
While stirring add blood, sweat, and tears for flavour. (Your own usually if from Enemies these ingredients become a Pound of Flesh and this will add a distinct bitter flavour)
Let set until the mixture has the consistency of stone. (Timeline dependent on Caster, and the quality of luck they used)
Take a hammer, and chisel. Demolish the stone mixture into tiny workable pieces.
Using mortar and pestle grind the stone pieces into a fine powder. Adding Elbow Grease to the tip of the pestle may help ease this process.
Gather all the powder into a bowl.
Add an ounce of Morality for fiber
A dash of Caution to prevent it from rising too high
And a Pinch of Regret
Stir well with water from a Wishing Well (Remember do NOT say your wish aloud or it will not come true)
Pour mixture into a glass and garnish as you desire (a wedge of Forbidden Fruit on the side, or a Rim of Salt in The Wound is always a classic choice)
Pinch nose and drink the whole glass at The Right Moment.*
*Note that all results are unique and not always For The Better. The recipe does not guarantee A Happy Ending only Something New. This is an extremely powerful and dangerous magic only to be practised by the most experienced spell casters. Or the truly desperate.**
** It is estimated that at some point in their career all Casters will perform this spell and none of them will ever feel they were Ready at the time. The Right Moment is usually determined by a Chorus of Angels, or A Call to Adventure, but as those are increasingly rare I recommend Casters rely less on Signs and more on their Hearts.
Cheers.
