About me
When I was six years old and graduating kindergarten we had to say what we wanted to be when we grew up at the graduation ceremony. I said author or librarian because I loved books. Although I've grown up a lot in fifteen years that thing inside me that demands to tell stories has only grown too. When I was in elementary school I thought I wanted to be an author of novels. When I was in high school and involved in three productions in my senior year I wanted to be a playwright. In university I wanted to write for television. All of these are still true. I would love to write novels and plays, showrun my own TV show, and maybe write a film. I have never been held down by medium as this portfolio reflects. In terms of genre I tend to lean toward fantasy and metafiction: stories about myths or about storytelling.

I have just completed my undergraduate at Western University with a double major in the School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities and an Honours Specialization in Creative Writing and English Language and Literature. At Western, I facilitated a writing club "Creativitea" that allowed students to workshop their creative pieces and enjoy warm drinks. I received The Award of Distinctive Merit for Playwriting in the Sears Ontario Drama Festival in 2016 and The Award of Excellence for Playwriting in Sears Ontario Drama Festival regional competition in 2015 in collaboration with my collective. I received the English Award and the Arts Award for my work in theatre when I graduated high school. I have been published by Western's literary magazine, Symposium, in the spring of 2018, and by the publication Iconoclast in the spring of 2019, and fall of 2019. I also published theatre reviews for the Arts and Humanities Student Council website from September 2017 to April 2018.

Check out my ongoing project 52shortlives, a blog I started to shine some light on the excellent but underappreciated medium of the short story! The tenet of the project is simple: every week for a year I read and then write about a different short story.

There isn't much else to say except I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I enjoyed writing them.
